Wabi Sabi***, your lodge in the heart of the Corrèze

Rocamadour is a world-famous medieval and religious town and one of the most visited sites in France. The village, built in successive levels on the side of a cliff, clings 120 metres above a canyon where the Alzou flows.

Collonges-la-Rouge is a village in the Correze region with medieval streets, castles and fortified towers. The village stands in purple sandstone, the result of a presence on a limestone soil and near a red sandstone fault.

Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, a charming village along the river, nestles in a meander of the Dordogne. This former fishing village lives to the rhythm of its river. Between its picturesque architectural heritage, water sports and gastronomy, there is something for everyone.

Once the seat of the powerful viscounty of the same name, Turenne is a medieval village. Follow one of its pretty streets lined with private mansions up to the promontory where the remains of the old castle have stood guard for centuries. Here you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views in the department.

If it is said to be « gaillarde », it is probably for two reasons: coquettish and valiant, it was also a fortified town in the Middle Ages, when Gaillard meant « fortified ». A welcoming, sunny town, it is adorned with a very rich historical centre, an astonishing « lighthouse-water tower » and a magnificent palette of flower gardens. Brive-la-Gaillarde knows how to cultivate the art of living well with its book fair, its rugby team and its fairs.

The world-famous Gouffre de Padirac is the first natural underground heritage site in France. The opening is 35 metres in diameter and the chasm plunges 75 metres from the surface of the causse. At the bottom, 103 metres below ground, flows the river of Padirac which flows in a network of galleries of more than 40km!

To the south-west of Brive-la-Gaillarde, the Causse lake is located in an exceptional natural setting. With a surface area of 84 ha, it allows the practice of numerous water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing, paddle, surf-bike and many others. Swimming is supervised from 10am to 6pm in July and August.

The Fage chasm is a magical underground site that offers an unusual dive at a depth of 25 metres. This site, with its unique flora and fauna, is located near Wabi Sabi. On a self-guided tour, you can discover two galleries and admire beautiful draperies in various colours, richly decorated calcite bridges, a multitude of stalactites, columns and fantastic figures and a palaeontological deposit.
